Multifunctional workshop hall for body shop in Switzerland

“We wanted a premium quality workshop hall with great functionality. Carrying out the construction project with a HALTEC modular steel building was the right decision. It is exactly as described and our customers feel at home here too.”

Solid building or modern steel construction? This was the question facing the owner of a body shop when planning a new workshop with storage and office areas.

The metalwork expert explains the range of services: “Along with classic body repairs, we also manufacture challenging new items and restore classic cars. We therefore wanted a premium quality building with great functionality.”

The Steelflex system hall as a workshop hall

The cost of the new workshop had to be kept as low as possible. Therefore, an expensive solid building requiring intensive planning was not an option. The Steeflex system hall proved to be an equivalent, but clearly more cost-effective alternative. With a total area of 600 m² it offers plenty of space and ideal scope for configuration.

An eave height of almost 8 m allowed for a two-storey interior construction. “The upper floor houses an office, storage space and a small repair workshop,” says the owner. “On the ground floor are the body shop and a display area for premium quality, pure aluminium wheel rims. This is sublet to the largest wheel rim company in Switzerland.”

Multifunctional implementation in a modern design

The workshop hall was fitted out to meet these needs with windows, doors and electric sectional gates. Microlined sandwich panels give the external view an attractive appearance and insulate the interior area at the same time. A row of windows in the side wall provide harmonious light incidence.

The owner describes the successful assembly of the new building: “Carrying out the construction project with a HALTEC modular steel building was the right decision. It is exactly as described and our customers feel at home here too. They have the pleasant feeling of being in an exclusive shop.”
