Logistics warehouses with "GreenBuilding" certification for Siemens

"We received very competent advice right from the start. Our order and the hall assembly were executed as we had planned. HALTEC has confirmed our previous positive experiences with the construction of these logistics warehouses."

Reference example: Siemens AG

At one of their production locations Siemens AG required two logistics and order-picking halls for extending the manufacturing capacities for gas-insulated medium-voltage installations.

In addition to an optimal price/performance ratio, the positive experiences that Siemens AG had made with HALTEC in a previous construction project, also played a role in the investment decision.

Steelflex steel building as addition to an existing building

One of the new halls was also to serve as a customer acceptance centre and would be added to an existing building. In this regard, due to the arrangement of the passage sluices, through transport routes between the existing building and the new hall should be provided.

"At first we thought that we would have problems with these sluices, and that we would not be able to implement our production as planned, since at this point an upright blocked the passage", explains the Siemens project manager. "This concern turned out to be completely unfounded. HALTEC adapted the hall construction to the conditions and executed all connecting sluices as desired."

Logistics warehouses with "GreenBuilding" certification

Additional requirements from Siemens were rigorous fire-safety regulations and the erection of a particularly energy-efficient building, in order to obtain the "GreenBuilding" certification. The prerequisite for this certification is that the regulation for energy saving in buildings (EnEV) limit values must be underranged by more than 30%. Consequently for the roof cladding of the halls, mineral-wool sandwich panels were use that are characterised by a particularly good thermal insulation value (U-value).

If necessary the logistics and order-picking halls can be extended without complex remodeling work. Thanks to the advantages offered by the modular construction multiplying the space capacities is possible at anytime by adding additional hall bays.

The responsible Project Manager summarised as follows: "We received very competent advice right from the start. Our order and the hall assembly were executed as we had planned. HALTEC has confirmed our previous positive experiences with the construction of these logistics warehouses."
